My practice is outcomes focused. Very often my clients have a particular goal in mind, whether it be returning to work or improving relations with family members. In addition, to empower them with life skills to manage their daily stress and anxiety and enable them to improve their quality of life. I work with clients from an initial assessment to their discharge with a focus on helping them achieve their goals.
Over the years I have developed a range of clinical assessment, formulation and intervention skills across a range of presenting difficulties in people across the lifespan. I prefer to work collaboratively with clients to develop an understanding of their problems and to assist them in “helping themselves”. I am able to use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy ‘CBT’, Couple and Family Systemic Therapy, Exposure therapy, Mindfulness, Focusing Therapy, EMDR, Mind Body Medicine, Tapping and Body Movement Therapy, Play Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Attachments, Integrative models/frameworks from which to best make sense of a person/and or family difficulties. Alongside this I aim to deliver strategies such as models of adjustment, resilience and coping and acceptance to clients and their families.
I meet with clients by appointment at Hatfield, London, or Cambridge: the main address is at Jim McDonalds Centre, High View, Hatfield, Hertfordshire, AL10 8HR.
